N’Golo Kante reportedly wants to leave Chelsea at the end of the season, with Barcelona among others wanting to sign him, according to El Desmarque.
However, the midfielder would actually prefer to join their arch rivals Real Madrid, which probably won’t impress Barca bosses.
He would reportedly also like to join either Juventus or Bayern Munich, as the Frenchman looks for a new challenge outside of the Premier League. Both Barcelona and Real Madrid already have a wealth of midfield talent at their disposal.
Real Madrid have Casemiro in a similar position to the one Kante would play, but the Chelsea man is said to have a good relationship with fellow countryman and Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane has reportedly asked the club if they can sign Kante, but Real president Florentino Perez has denied him because they would have to pay somewhere in the area of €100million (£83.5m)
Equally, he would be joining a strong French contingent if he were to join Barcelona, who have players such as Antoine Griezmann, Jean-Clair Todibo, Samuel Umtiti, and Clement Lenglet.
Ousmane Dembele is said to be one of the first to learn of Kante’s desire to leave, and the Barcelona player is keen for the club to bring him to the Nou Camp.
Kante joined Chelsea in 2016 having just won the Premier League with Leicester City. He went on to win another league title in 2017, won the FA Cup in 2018, and then the Europa League in 2019.
Now he would apparently like to go in search of silverware on the continent.
